Headlining the new servo selection is the Z8800S and Z8800T Digital Race Servos. The "S" and "T" designates whether the servo is the "speed" or "torque" version. JR has applied this designation to all its new race servos to make identification easier.
Both Z8800 versions boast a newly developed digital amplifier that produces unequalled holding torque and resolution. Even on the most vibration-riddled 1/8 gas car, the new amp keeps things strong, solid and smooth. Pro 1/8 scale racer Ron Rosetti has been field testing these servos for over a year and a half in competitions across the country and has seen first-hand just how robust this new amplifier is, saying, "In my 1/8 on-road car, the new servos' quickness and strength was incredible, and the centering accuracy is simply second to none."
Besides the new amplifier, the Z8800s feature dual, wide-spaced ball bearings, a coreless motor and an industrial strength composite metal gear train made up of a combination of hard-coated aluminum and steel gears. Horizon Engineering Manager, John Adams, has also been putting the new servos through their paces in the off-road environment with a 1/8 Mayhem Pro™ buggy. As John puts it, "These are quite simply the most powerful, most accurate digital servos I have ever used. The gear train is virtually unstrippable."
